Our recent social events:

Croquet

On a very hot August afternoon, a group of us took to the croquet lawns at Nottingham Croquet Club.

Larraine had organised an afternoon of matches, ably assisted by club members Angela and Gina, followed by tea and homemade cakes.

We were drawn into pairs who then played each other in a couple of knockout matches culminating in the grand penalty shootout for the final three pairs. Each player had five balls to get through the hoop, with the winning team scoring the grand total of 2 (it was a lot harder than it looks!).

Congratulations to Chris and Trevor who just edged out out the other finalists.

Tea and lots of cake followed to end a very enjoyable social afternoon.

Christmas Lunch 2025

In December a large group enjoyed a walk around Bestwood followed by Christmas Lunch at Bestwood Lodge Hotel, Arnold. 

Bell Foundry Tour

In November a group of Rushcliffe Ramblers enjoyed a lovely walk in Outwoods amongst the autumn colours, including a coffee stop, before moving on for a pub lunch.

The main event was a very informative tour of Taylors Bell Foundry in Loughborough, the last working bell foundry in the UK.

members of Rushcliffe Ramblers over non-members.
